Camping in Utah's Canyon Country
by Utah's Canyon Country

Looking for a fun weekend getaway? Want a taste of the great outdoors? Then it might be time to take a break from your busy, everyday life and take a camping trip. Look no further than Utah’s Canyon Country for the most exciting places to camp and enjoy the beautiful wilderness.

When you’re camping in Utah’s Canyon Country, you can fall asleep under thousands of stars. Utah’s Canyon Country is home to four official Dark Sky Parks: Natural Bridges National Monument, Canyonlands National Park, Hovenweep National Monument and Goosenecks State Park. All of these Dark Sky Parks are designated as such because of their extraordinary starry night skies, nocturnal environment and commitment to limiting light pollution. Whether you’re an astronomer, photographer or just an amateur stargazer, camping underneath the stars in one of these parks is sure to be an experience that you won’t soon forget.

Do you love camping, but can’t live without electricity and running water? Utah’s Canyon Country has a variety of glamping options for those who don’t want to “rough it” when they enjoy the outdoors. Sitting at just over 7,000 ft, Monticello is a great spot for glamping in the summer because of its cooler climate due to its higher altitude, and is often 10-15 degrees cooler than Moab. The Domes offer a unique glamping experience in a geodesic dome as well as a private bathroom and shower with hot water inside each dome. The domes are cooled in the summer and heated in the winter for year round comfort. Add some history with your glamping and stay in a furnished Conestoga covered wagon at Historic Heritage Homestead. These spacious covered wagons help you feel the pioneer experience without giving up modern day comforts. Whatever your outdoor comfort level, Utah’s Canyon Country has it all.

Camping isn’t all about sleeping in the wilderness, it’s about exploring and connecting with nature. While you’re out enjoying the great outdoors, be sure to go out and explore everything that Utah’s Canyon Country has to offer. Go rafting down the San Juan River with Wild Expeditions. Catch some fish or go for a swim at Lake Powell. You could even take a trip back in time and see ancient pictographs and artifacts at Bears Ears National Monument. Camping is never boring in Utah’s Canyon Country.

The next time you feel the need to get away, come connect with nature at Utah’s Canyon Country.
