Allen Memorial Hospital’s
second annual community health fair will be held at the

at 10 a.m. and continue until 1 p.m.
DON'T FOOL AROUND WITH YOUR HEALTH!
Make your well being a priority in life. Take this opportunity
to learn more about your health through medical screenings,
educational materials and resources in our community.
|
Health screening information may provide
early disease detection to proactively address today’s
most critical health issues including heart disease, diabetes,
cancer, diet and exercise. Becoming aware of your health
risks is important, but even more important is taking action
in prevention and early detection of acute and chronic illness.
Use the information and tools you acquire at the health fair
to assess your health and lifestyle. Assume responsibility
for your own choices through development of a personal wellness
plan for maximum health throughout life. Our main goal is
to help you find information you need to stay healthy.
As society ages, it is more important than ever for people
to be proactive with their health. Again this year, the hospital
is offering free and low-cost health screenings including
a full blood chemistry profile test for $50.
|
The profile includes a lipid panel, complete
blood count and thyroid testing. Individuals may come in
for a blood draw between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. weekdays at Canyonlands
Medical Center, Suite B, beginning March 13 through March
24, 2006. A 12-hour fast is recommended for best results.
You may schedule an appointment by calling 259-2772, however
walk-ins are welcome. Test results will be available at the
April 1 health fair.
The health fair will offer a wide variety of screenings as
well as information on smoking cessation, nutrition, hospice,
women’s health, diabetes and much more.
