Wingate by Wyndham in Moab Offers Complimentary Hot Breakfast for its Guests
By Sharon Sullivan
There’s a relatively new hotel, Wingate by Wyndham Moab, where pets are welcome (at no extra charge), you can lock up your bike in an indoor storage area, and guests can enjoy a complimentary hot breakfast. Wingate by Wyndham is located at the south end of town, at 1260 S. Hwy 191, next to Ye Ol’ Geezer Meat Shop. The hotel opened in September 2019.

The hotel offers a variety of rooms, ranging from a single with a standard king-sized bed; a room with two queen beds, or, for larger groups – rooms with three queen beds. Wingate by Wyndham also has suites with living room-type areas. Each room includes a microwave oven and a fridge.

The hotel’s complimentary breakfast menu varies, with many options from which to choose including omelets and other types of egg dishes, green chili sauce, sausage, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, and waffles, as well as continental-type items like muffins, bagels, yogurt, oatmeal and cereal.

Guests can dine at one of several indoor lounge areas, or sit outdoors on the patio during warmer weather. The hotel’s outdoor area comes with fire pits and a barbeque grill where guests are welcome to cook their own hamburgers and steaks, said general manager Mitchell Walasek.

Additionally, the hotel has a large outdoor pool and hot tub area, that’s typically open from March through most of November.

The lodge also has an extended parking area for trailers, and RVs – “so there’s plenty of parking for all guests’ toys,” said Walasek.

Other hotel amenities include free wi-fi, a fitness center open 24 hours, a shop where you can purchase various sundry items, and laundry facilities.

The hotel strives to be environmentally friendly by employing water conservation measures, energy-efficient lighting, and a recycling program, said Walasek.

Room rates range from as low as $79 during Moab’s less-busy winter months, to $479 during the height of tourist season in the summer and fall. Knowledgeable front desk staff can direct guests on what to see and do in Moab, and to the various dining options in the area, Walasek said.

Wingate by Wyndham is a franchise chain with 150 hotels throughout the United States. Moab’s Wingate hotel owners live in Salt Lake City.
