Summer
days in Moab can be hot. And there is no better way to cool
down than taking a refreshing river trip. Tag-A-Long Expeditions
has just that.
You are transported through the profound geologic time of ancient
seas and sand dunes, dinosaur habitat, and the trails of the
first Native American occupants, then later, the settlers of
the Moab area.
Maximize your visit with a combination of activities to develop
a unique experience of the region.
TWO PARKS IN 1 DAY – While Arches National Park has a
perfectly sturdy road to drive and access an abundance of arches,
sights and hikes, you might want to go off-road and experience
the narrative of a guided tour of the park. The dirt road avails
a look at a dinosaur trackway and is the shortest 4x4 route
Tag-A-Long offers, so for those who wish to sample an off-road
trail this is for you too. And we are thrilled to announce
you can combine this trip with a jetboat or 4x4 tour of Canyonlands
for a full day outing to include Two Parks in 1 Day!
WATER – “Too thick to drink and too thin to plow” was
once said to describe the Colorado River. Go see for yourself.
Rafting all day is a favorite and certainly available. Again,
should you be mindful to do more in a day, Tag-A-Long can serve
you with a calm water scenic jetboat tour of Canyonlands (downstream
of Moab) for half of a day and another half-day to be spent
cavorting in Professor Valley on the Colorado River upstream
of Canyonlands and Moab by raft. Either trip can be completed
independent of the other, particularly, if you have to drive
onward mid-day to your next destination or have plans to hike
on your own that same day. Still, it is hoped you will stay
and play once you have learned just how much FUN is available
to you in Moab!
PREMIER TOUR – Tag-A-Long Expeditions began serving visitors
to the area in 1964 and early on contracted public land permits
that are no longer available to other outfitters. An especially
popular tour is one integrating the jetboat tour of Canyonlands
with the 4x4 tour of Canyonlands. It is a fascinating perspective
to see this 337,570 acres encapsulated in this one day excursion.
It is rivers which trisect this park into three districts.
Upon the Colorado River, you glimpse the power of erosion and
plateau uplift, that combined, deposited a tantalizing formation
of canyons and drainages. Our narrative will benefit your understanding
of geology, flora and fauna, human history and generally reveal
the mystery of the area.

FUN – Fun is for all ages. Rafting in Professor Valley
is appropriate for 40 pound children, this stretch of The Colorado
River is a great idea to get out from behind the windshield
to experience the outdoors, and in the heat it is 8ºF/3ºC
cooler over the water. Even cooler taking a dip in the
river. The jetboat is a come-as-you-are river experience.
It is a dry river ride. It feels good to feel the wind
over your skin as it negotiates the Colorado River under
Dead Horse State Park at 20 mph/32 kph. Prefer brawling
whitewater? Tag-A-Long Expeditions has 3-4 days a week
that Whitewater rafts are launched for Westwater Canyon.
It is exclusive at 25 participants. No river rafting experience
necessary. Friendly staff await your visit or phone call
to help select an activity that is appealing and professional.
Ask about adding a camel or horseback ride, sky dive or
scenic flight, drive your own ATV or dune buggy to the
previous suggestions.
